An old fashion diner Dietz is a diner that has been around for a while and looks it, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. It has that old fashion and very cool diner ambiance that probably hasn't changed in quite a while. The rather odd name comes from the fact that there is a stadium nearby and of course the diner does get insanely crowded after games at the stadium but most of the time the diner is a quiet and pleasant place to eat. It has typical diner food at very reasonable prices. A great place to get a traditional breakfast of omelets, pancakes or muffins and lots of inexpensive burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner. Definitely not a place to go for gourmet or fancy food or décor. A simple place that has been serving inexpensive and good food for a long time.

Not sure if the owner has changed or people that have reviewed this place are clearly trolling. Me and a friend stopped by to grab some dinner on a trip back home. The food here was rather lackluster. First of all, the interior needs some serious renovation. I felt like I time warped back into the 70s and no I don't think it was meant to look like that on purpose. I ordered the fried chicken which had a heavy batter and was rather bland. Almost tasted like school cafeteria food. The only upside that I will give this place is that the portions were huge and the service was actually not that bad. If you are 65+ years old and are looking for an early bird special, I suppose this place wouldn't be bad. For all others I would keep looking for another place to eat.

Five stars as far as diners go. Always pleasant staff as you walk in. Huge menu of great diner food. Always great fresh tasty food in very nice portions. The wraps are all awesome. The grilled Ruben is amazing. I prefer the cornedbeef . The place to go for the best diner food in the area. Been going there for years.

I've been going to this diner for about 12 years. Its old but I liked that about it. The food was good and not coming from whatever distributor supplies every single other diner around. Something has changed lately and the food has been utterly disgusting. They're cutting corners everywhere. They try to cover for the screw ups instead of apologizing and fixing it. It didn't used to be like this there, but the last 4 or 5 times in a row that I've been there its been this way. Maybe I'll try it again one day and if its better I'll update my review.

I have been here a few times over the past year, and it's a great diner! They are quick, efficient, and everyone is very friendly. I guess you could say they are a tad more expensive for a diner, but come on people-it's a diner. And they make good food for the price. I especially like their eggs-very tasty and cooked just the way I like them! I also really like their coffee. It's never burnt, even at 2am. Love this place and will continue to come back many times in the future!

This diner is just so awful. The servers here are always moody and rude, and the food is awful. Most of their items - save only for the salads - are clearly pre-frozen food service fare. They offer some daily specials which are conveniently (for them) over at 6pm. I guess the thing that's kept this nondescript place in business is that they're open 24hrs, and although that may not seem like a very big deal these days, in the area where it's located, there is absolutely nothing open after 9pm, making this place somewhat inviting when one is drunk and craving at 3 in the morning and few places nearby are open If you happen to stop in on a Sunday night when an old hag with a brogue is on duty, head for the door quickly! She is the nastiest server you will ever encounter in your lifetime! Promptly go around the corner and just a couple of blocks up to the Olympic diner instead, where you'll have a wonderful, plentiful meal served by polite, friendly servers who will treat you like a human being. Then forget this Dietz dump even exists.

Great service and really good food. Always greeted with a smile. Showed up with 10 (5 kids) and didn't have to wait long for a table. Owners came by all the time to check in with us and talk. Great family! We make this our go to after church on Sunday mornings and a guarantee for great food any time during the day for a quick fix. A staple in uptown Kingston.

My husband and I had breakfast at Dietz Diner with some friends earlier this week. The prices are very fair and the portions are large. The waitress was very personable and our meal came out quickly. My lox and bagel sandwich was huge and stuffed with about twice as much high quality lox as I expected; most fancier restaurants give you a much smaller portion. My husband liked his waffles and sausage. Our table also ordered a Greek omelet w/ fruit and a stack of pancakes with bacon. All the portions were very generous and we were happily surprised with a bill of $38.00 for the table...including tax and coffee. I look forward to having a meal here again, the next time we meet friends earlier in the day.

First thing first: When I first walked in, I was so impressed by the lighting. It felt so warm, it's incandescence! The staff was very friendly and attentive. This place was so sparkling clean. Its bathroom is probably one of the cleanest I've ever seen! Food was standard diner fair, as one would expect. I got a wrap from their 20 wrap selection on the menu. Unfortunately this buffalo chicken wrap with blue cheese sauce was just a bit too saucy and creamy to my taste. French fries were definitely seasoned "within," so that's a surprise. It had a weird but good crunch to it. I loved it.

It's my honor to be the first Yelp'er to write a review on Dietz Stadium Diner. This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants that I must give tribute to. Dietz Stadium Diner is a 24-hour establishment that represents the authentic greek diners that you see in the New York/New Jersey area. This place fed me on many drunken post-party weekend nights during my high school and college years when I came back home to visit. The food may not be gourmet, but the quality and prices are decent. Good times good times....

I can't say too much. Although I only stop in routinely, the place is okay to use. The wait staff is well organized. Their selection is average, with prices to suit many's budget. Outside of that, this place has got a few problems. The entryway near bathroom is too small, there are a few potholes in their parking lot(but that's beyond this review), and it really isn't in the beat neighborhood(as their is a high school fitness and football track and field very close by, as where this name came from. (When there is a game in progress, do not go in, as the place will be overly crowded).

Top notch. We had a great dinner there while visiting the area. Tons of very tasty, well prepared food. Excellent service and very reasonable prices.

I love this diner. I take my Nan here often. I have never been disappointed, although there is one waitress that I'm not crazy about. Other than that everybody is friendly and attentive!

Wow. Either I have a much different opinion of what good tasting food is or this place has changed soup to nuts in the last year. I will revisit and update my stars if needed, but, easily the worst diner in town and if you are eating breakfast or lunch can easily get a better meal at Deisings half a block away.

Atmosphere and service was good. Food was spotty. My dad had a roast beef club and he thought it was great. I had a taco wrap and it was awful. Very bland. The packets of taco "sauce" they gave to supplement the bland wrap was more like paste... it looked too sketchy for me to try.

We were staying in nearby Woodstock and ventured out a little late (9pm- ish) for something to eat. I love diners, and we chose this place because it had the most cars out front.. We were so glad!! We ordered the hot open-faced turkey sandwich and a Greek salad..Both were wonderful. We had a really sweet waitress too, and were just very, very happy with the whole experience!

A great stop not too far off the road and about halfway between our home in Saratoga and the in-laws in NJ. We stop on a Sunday at around noon. The food was very fresh, extremely quick and, I thought, relatively inexpensive (as both my wife and I enjoyed our leftovers for dinner that night). It was kid friendly and my two little guys (2 and 5) enjoyed the hot dog, fries and jello/ice cream. I would recommend this and will likely make it a regular stop on our trips to see the family.

I like this place very much. We stumbled on it one evening as it was the only place open and have become near weekly regulars. They have an amazing breakfast with good size portions at the right price. I like the old fashion feel and the staff is very friendly. It's great for a quick home-style meal and happy feeling!

This place is exactly what you think it would be... but BETTER! It was so old fashioned, but OH SO GOOD. The service had the "Baltimore, hon" vibe to it and the food came out promptly, like it should at a diner. Don't try comparing this diner to a typical Double T because Dietz's kills it. Prices are dine-reasonable and the atmosphere is liking stepping into your aunt Mable's place. I appreciate everything about Dietz's and if I find myself heading North in the future, I'll plan to stop again!

My first visit was on a week day evening. Friendly server, food wasn't bad, big portions and we had to take some home. We asked for fresh condiments to go with our left over quesadilla and the server happily brought them. My next visit was on a Sunday morning. The place was busy and we were immediately seated. Four minutes later the two tables adjacent to us filled up. A few minutes later a server takes their drink orders. We wait patiently for someone to come and our drink order, but no one comes. When the people who came after us get their drinks we politely asked the server if she would take our order, no one has been by and we have been here for 15 minutes. She threw down two napkins on the table and said, "Okay, you will have to wait," and went back to the other table. While we continued to wait we discussed if we should leave or not. When she came back she was impatient while we were ordering our drinks, so I told her that we will go somewhere else because she does not look happy to be serving us. That was my final visit! There are many other diners in Kingston.

Have been to this diner many times, never had any issues until yesterday. Went at about 11pm with friends, service was fast and efficient, drinks were alright, but the food this time was terrible. No seasoning, and the way it was prepared, part of my food was clearly left over and microwaved. the ONLY reason I have given this diner 3 and not 2 stars is because MOST of the time everything is good, it is a good diner.

It's a diner and a pretty darn good one .. Overall can't complain .. Menu was daily priced, service was good and so was the food. They have been there a while and have it all figured out. Worth a visit

Great! This is the quintessential diner: fair prices and portions, a simple and diverse menu, good "home style-ish" fresh food and friendly, quick service. Been here a couple of times, once for the Dietz Burger and another for the Fried Chicken and Cheesecake. The burger was great, nothing special but very well done, cooked as ordered and with above average ingredients. The fried chicken wasn't as good but way better than most fast food chains and the mashed potatoes that came with it definitely made in house from real potatoes! The cheesecake was delicious and decadent and more than worth a try. Price: 4/5 Quantity: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Quality: 4/5 Taste: 4/5 Overall: 4/5, for a job well done

Seven people, six different menu items...we all loved them. Wonderful Greek dishes and great specials. Huge portions. Salads are rather blah.

The food is good enough and was, at least formerly, cheap enough. And, for a Kingstonian, it's some place that comes up in one's history. For an authentic diner, Dietz has got it... I have never found one since with the full experience... the waitresses, the music boxes. Check it out!

BEST truck stop diner I've been to in the world. Was headed to the catskills for a family reunion, and we stayed across the street from this place. We literally ate breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snack here. The food is great, and HUGE portions, and great service, and so much butter, syrup, ketchup, etc. etc. They hook you up yo. I wish I lived within 3000 miles so I could go back all the time. Alas. If I never visit Kingston again, I will always remember it for this place. Cuz the town's a dump. No offense.

Large portions. Decent, fresh food. Service is very erratic. Sometimes surly or busy talking to each other to serve customers. Same for hostesses.

Great diner! "A diner where everybody knows your name" with the locals, remodeled recently and great diner food! We go there for lunch frequently - LOVE the BURGERS, COLESLAW AND HOMEMADE POTATO CHIPS!!!!!!!!!!!! Get the homemade cheesecake for dessert. YUMMY! Wonderful eats on the cheap.

Not bad, mostly older people eat here and it has a kind of rural touch. Food was quite good, has American, Italian and Mexican dishes.

Quiet traditional 24/7 diner with great burgers. Try their lemonade, it's delicious! Came here for dinner, breakfast and desserts - dinner was best, breakfast was good, but i can not recommend the desserts (cakes) as they are just too sweet and came straight from the supermarket.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
